On Tuesday 05 December 2017 a group of 18 Chilean students arrived at one of the Bowen Education Group (BEgroup)’s institutes – Kingston Institute of Business & Technology (KIBT) in Auckland. The group of high school students ranged between age 16 and 18 who are at the final year of high school. They are interested in going to universities and travelling. Most students are from Temuco, two from Concepcion and one from Santa Cruz, a small town down the South of Chile. The organising agent has a long term relationship with Kingston and they have sent many groups of students from Chile to New Zealand. The students mainly come from ‘well-off’ families in Chile where Mum and Dad work as professional office workers. Their English level is quite high and the main purpose is to experience New Zealand, is culture and sightseeing. Some would stay for 4 weeks and some would stay 8 weeks.
The students plan to visit different iconic places in Auckland and do a variety of activities to have fun and get to know the country – New Zealand. Most of them are arranged to stay with Kiwi home stay.
Towards end of their time at Kingston, the feedback from our Chilean students was excellent. They enjoyed the mix of Chinese, Korean, Japanese and other nationalities and rated 10 out of 10 for their teachers!
